Evening is the time to remove all that make up and susncreen you had on and let the skin repair and rejuvenate overnight.
Here are a few mistakes to avoid in your night time skin routine:
❌Using new product at night
✅Always try on a new product in the day time first on a day when you have little or no sun exposure. If you have a reaction to the product, you will be able to attend to it immediately.
This is especially to be followed by people with sensitive skin. Even if it is a retinol, it can be applied 5-6 hours before bed time to check if you can tolerate it .
❌Doing skin care just before bed
✅Do your skin care routine at least two hours bed sleeping so the products that you have applied have ample time to get absorbed and show the necessary effects. Sleeping immense after doing skin care will lead to the products getting rubbed off on the pillow case thereby wasting the products.
❌Using two iriitating products together
✅Even if your skin can take it, avoid using two irritating products together as it can cause redness flaking and worsening of dark spots. Skin barrier repair is important is should y be overlooked. All skin care actives essentially act by disruptions skin barrier, but using too many irritating products can be counter productive.
❌Skipping moistursier
✅Moisturiser is the most important part of night time skin care routine. Whether you have oily skin or sensitive skin, there is a moisturiser for you. A layer of moisturiser has to be applied at night.
❌Not putting your hair away
✅Hair strands falling on the face can rub the products away . Hair strands also may rub off oil from the scalp to the sides of face. Especially if you have oily skin or acne on forehead and sides of face, make sure all the hair is pulled back so the products can work more effectively
